CV COMIC final

Here is the final CV comic mentioned in the last post :)
reeeally pleased with how this has turned out, I feel that through these last few projects, my illustrations have come on a lot, and I'm ready to go out into the big wide world and show them what I have got haha :)
probably going to take a huuuuuuuuge break first, but knowing me, I probably will jump head first into another, self directed project haha.
I mean, I have the 'spector inspectors' comic I mentioned, and want to go back a revisit something I started along time ago, about a 'desert hero'.

Anyways, back on track, this is my CV comic, it's for my final project at uni 'Final major presentation or IL8'
this is to go along with

  • stickers
  • business cards
  • bookmark
  • Maud and the Dragon zine
  • badges
enjoy :)
any questions? please don't hesitate to ask

CV COMIC

For our FINAL PROJECT AT UNI WOOOO. One of the things we need to have completed is a CV.
But not your bog standard, boring CV, but a bells and whistles, awesome CV, that represents us.
The point is, you 'sell yourself' and display your illustrative style, without needing be in the room.
So I am writing a mini 8 page zine/comic, in A5 format.
It is based on a news report, about me, as an illustrator.
here is the cover/page 1

YES HE LOOKS LIKE HITLER I have been told. However, I like to think he looks like Charlie Chaplin.
The rest will be up when completed.

Please leave any comments :)

EVALUATION TIME - Maud and the Dragon/FMP

Riiight, so it's time to evaluate what it is I have done for this project, what the outcome was and how I feel about it.

First item on the agenda, what I have produced?:

a graphic novel based on the legend surround my hometown and where I am studying, Hereford. The legend tells of a young girl who discovers a dragon, or in some cases, a wyvern. There are many different versions of the story, but I chose my favorite and changed it slightly, adding characters that would fit in perfectly to make the story more suited for a graphic novel.
Aaaanyway, the graphic novel is a grand total of 92 pages long, and I am planning on printing a hard copy, but also producing an ebook too :).

Outcome??:
As mentioned, the hard and digital copy of the novel, but also promotional posters, mentioned in the previous post. All ready to be displayed in a lovely manner at my final show, along with badges and stickers to be purchased, along with sopies of both the novel and the posters.

How I feel?? :
mixed emotions, I love it and am really pleased with how it reads and how the story progresses, however  I am now wishing that I had coloured them digitally, rather than in marker pens, in then same manner I have coloured the poster, changing the colour for each chapter, as I have mentioned in the previous post. But ultimately, I feel a great sense of achievement for actually finishing the damn thing. I can finally have my social life back haha.

This post is mainly for the benefit of my tutors Mark and Neil (hi guuuuys) and will probably bore the pants off any one reading, including them. So yeah, apologies there.

PROMO POSTERS - MAUD AND THE DRAGON

I'm working on 4 promotional posters, to be displayed with my graphic novel
each one will have a colour, to represent the season that the illustration is set in.
The point being that, the entirety of 'Maud and the Dragon' takes place in a year, so when she finds the dragon, it is winter, and ...well, I don't want to spoil any surprises.
but yeah, each poster will fit around a season and a colour

winter being blue
spring is green
summer is yellow
and autumn is red

so far I have only managed winter, I'm gutted as I wanted them all finished by the deadline, buuuut, as they say, you cannot rush perfection hahaha

I wish I had done each chapter according to this colour theme, and in the style of the posters, but I guess we all think better in retrospect

so here is winter. I'm really pleased with how it has come out and am excited to start on the next 3

prints will be available in A3, in either matte of gloss at the final show, and through post, if you are interested then please get in contact.
and as always, comments are greatly appreciated
